The private rooms externalize in a more calm outside plastering. A number of screens with different levels of transparency divide the spaces, in analogy of the diaphragms and filters of a camera. The home opens up to the south garden. A canopy prevents overheating in summer and provides natural heating in winter.
In the main bedroom a furniture element divides the day and night activities. The interior provides a multifunctional use of the available space.
The interior provides a multifunctional use of the available space possible. Sleeping, storing, washing and dressing become a continuous experience. The open bathroom space is also a circulation space to access the bedroom and the dressing room. The glass door that defines the dressing room is also the door of the shower. A raised floor next to the bed is designed as storage space. The central furniture element is divided in a bright daypart at the bathroom side and a warmer night part at the bedroom side. The element provides the required storage space for both spaces. In the sleeping area, circles on the wall are positioned according to the sleep curve. They end in the space of the daypart. Cut out circles in the side of the bed, in the roll able laundry box and in front of the radiators, ensure the necessary air circulation and ventilation. The use of the same round openings in the dressing creates different storage options.
