The site is adjacent to a historic shrine in Kamakura. The site of a large mansion was divided into four lots, and a house for a family of five was planned for the flagpole-shaped lot at the far end.

A steel pergola was built at the 13-meter-long pole of the site as an approach to lead people into the house. The pergola was designed to open toward the neighboring land to the west, where a large tree remained. The stairwell leading to the approach is a large space that is intended to be used for events.

While the family housing portion was designed to be as compact as possible in the limited space, the second floor space has a loft with a generous ceiling height and a large screen that can be used for movie screenings.

The space changes step by step from shrine to approach to staircase room to residence, aiming to create a loose connection between the residence and the surrounding environment.
