The “Pralina Confectionery” is located in Nicosia, Cyprus and is the first of a line of luxury confectioneries, established by A. Zorbas & Sons Public Ltd. At the lower level we find the product display area, storage and preparation area, while in the mezzanine is the office, storage and auxiliary maintenance rooms. The peculiar shape and the austere space with the large two-story glazing was a design challenge. The central idea was the creation of a large product display, which extends throughout the whole length and height of the space. Τhe curved continuous shape of the display bench transforms itself into the staircase and mezzanine railings unifying the lower with the upper level. Important element for the design has been the overall lighting and its reflections as well as the choice of the materials and the use of organic elements and shapes. The products and the services provided –unique for the area- are revealed and enhanced through the moving experience that the space is offering.
