The house stands near Karystos, in the Metohi area, overlooking the sea to the south. It is a country house for a four-member family with a guest house, which is designed as a separate volume and connected to the main building through the courtyard. The property is located on the mountainside; therefore, the building is arranged in a linear layout in parallel with the contours of the hill, thus ensuring a sea view from all its premises. It is developed in two levels, which are interconnected at the central-back area of the house via a linear staircase. Common use functions, such as the living-room, dining-room and the kitchen, are located on the ground floor, as well as one of the bedrooms, while the two main bedrooms of the building are located on the first floor. Outdoor and semi-open spaces are developed around of the house, surrounded by the building’s volume. The simple volume lines of the building, combined with the usage of rough materials, form a structure that refers both to the local traditional architecture as much as to a modern and functional house.
