Louisiana Channel has released a short film, The Walls Are Dancing, in which architect Anna Heringer describes the design and realization of Anandaloy, the building in Bangladesh that just won the second annual Obel Award.
The name of the film is a quote from Heringer, when she speaks about how the mud walls depart from the orthogonal and also the inclusion of a ramp that wraps the building. Housing a center for people with disabilities and textile studio on two floors, Anandaloy is capped by a bamboo roof supported by bamboo columns.
Marc-Christoph Wagner interviewed Heringer at her studio in Laufen, Germany, in September 2020.
