N*thing is Possible has been on display at the National Design Centre since Singapore Design Week in September. The asterisk in the title invites visitors to take "a journey to zero waste" with hospitality brand Potato Head, who curated the exhibition with OMA and Shinji Takagi. A short film provides a virtual tour of the exhibition.
"Zero waste and the experience of comfort and enjoyment are not mutually exclusive." So goes a statement from OMA partner David Gianotten, Shinji Takagi, and Potato Head that continues: "and creative efforts across disciplines can transform matters at the 'end' of their lifecycles into a reservoir of resources." The refuse that is seen as "a reservoir of resources" is expressed in the exhibition through photographs, videos, and "an immersive environment that directs the spectators to see beyond the surface of waste and to sense the aesthetic within." Materials are also on display, as can be seen in the photographs shown here and the video that traces a visitor's route through the 1,000-m2 display of Potato Head's journey in creating an environmentally conscious hospitality business that embraces zero waste.
N*thing is Possible is on display at the National Design Centre Singapore until December 25, 2022.
