On April 13, after a 10-year restoration and renovation headed by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos of Seville, the "Museum of the Netherlands" in Amsterdam opens its doors.
The architect aimed to recreate the clear layout of Pierre Cuypers's 19th-century building by stripping away past additions. New pieces include the atrium entrance, Asian Pavilion, outdoor exhibition spaces, dining spaces, a shop, and a building for conservation. Pictured is the atrium that has been opened up by the removal of galleries added 50 years ago.
