TEEN LIBRARY AT FOUNTAINDALE PUBLIC LIBARY:
A relevant, energized 3500 SF space was transformed into a microcosm of an adult library with a diversity of resources, increased book collection and an environment that suits study and social habits of young adult users. Designed with a teen advisory board, Asian influences, clever materials, reconfigurable informal and formal furnishings and surprising elements entice and meet young adult needs. Not pristine, the Vortex teen library is designed to be casual, considered and carefully crafted.
Design Excellence Award, American Society of Interior Designers, 2011.
Award given for significant achievement for a public project.
