The Aizhai Bridge, billed as the world's highest and longest tunnel-to-tunnel bridge, opened in China's Hunan province recently. The suspsension bridge spans 1,176 meters (3,860 feet) from tunnel to tunnel, elevated 355 meters (1,100 feet) above Dehang Canyon. The bridge, painted bright red, took five years to build. The vertigo-inducing shot at left is one of many photographs collected by The Guardian on the opening of the bridge.
