The career of Gabriel Montañés was initially marked by a period in Australia with the Pritzker Prize Glenn Murcutt. Like the award-winning architect, the Menorcan believes that "you cannot try to make a friendly architecture with the environment if you do not know, interpret and love it before any architectural action" and act to represent this correlation in your work. He does not believe in sustainability as such, and prefers to advocate for the humanization of architecture.
Montañés and his team work mainly in Menorca, his native island, designing works that stand out for their natural lighting and ventilation, and for their integration into the environment. To their clients, they ask from the beginning, to love and respect Menorca and to be open to surprise and to be participants in the illusion that a project entails.
