Sharing a secluded street in the West Lake Hills community of Austin, Texas, the Wildcat Club Enclave will soon be home to six contemporary luxury estates. Each estate has been designed by a signature Austin architecture firm with a shared vision for an elevated luxury lifestyle immersed in native Texas landscape.
Sitting on nearly three acres of hilly terrain, the Rolling Hills Residence nestles into the easternmost end of the wooded property to leverage the sloping topography that allows each living level to seamlessly connect to the outdoors. Rolling Hills is a bespoke five-bedroom home with 280-degree views of the landscape below and downtown Austin in the distance. A light-filled central stair and residential elevator connect the home’s three levels, which contains amenities such as a wine room, office, media room, and private gym among spacious living and bedroom areas.
Grounding the house to the sloping site, native limestone walls provide a stable base for the lighter two-story steel and wood program elements resting above. Guests arrive to a welcoming central entry court and foyer flanked on both sides by native stone mass walls that offer vertical circulation up to living areas and access to a private living and bedroom suite with exterior terrace. On the north side, a lofty and spacious garage may accommodate up to six vehicles with the aid of lifts.
Upstairs, a second level includes three additional bedrooms, a media room, and garage loft. At the top, the primary level features living and dining areas that open to an intimate central courtyard and an infinity pool that overlooks the sloping backside of the property. Across the wind-protected courtyard, a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen opens to connect with the immediate landscape and extends to additional living and dining spaces outdoors.
Throughout the interior, materials are rich and refined, including plaster and White Oak paneling with blackened steel accents. Ceiling heights and room volumes vary, becoming more spacious in the rooms that open toward views. The primary suite on the top level takes advantage of great northern daylight filling each space and captures the distant views of the city’s skyline.
On the exterior, a palette of robust, durable materials—steel structure, native limestone, cast-in-place concrete, charred Accoya siding, and naturally patinaed copper—are curated for their clean-lines, as well as for their resiliency and authenticity to the site.
