Yamada's House

Even though there are many different sites, we believe that half of the corner lot belongs to the town.
So we want the architecture that emerges to be such.
At first glance, doesn't this kind of thinking seem like a loss for a family building on a limited site? But in fact, it is a wonder because once completed, you will acquire an unlimited expanse of space that will make you feel as if you have the city in your hands.
The first floor was kept as compact as possible in consideration of the city's visibility, while the second floor was made to overhang as much as possible to create an existence where people can take shelter from the rain.
The entrance to the house is on the second floor to create a physical distance from the street, and a wall with a roof and a windowless hole has been built to blur the contact point between the city and the residents.
An internal staircase connects the first floor to the roof, allowing direct access to the ground floor offices from the outside. By creating a small but three-dimensional circulation line, we thought we could create a living experience that feels continuous with the city while maintaining a certain distance from it.
It feels like living in a treehouse in the city.
