Sinan Lu is one of the biggest restoration projects ever undertaken ever in Shanghai. The five hectare site comprises a mix of residential apartments and private villas with a small boutique hotel and light commercial activities. WAA’s landscape design captures the historical character of the gorgeous villa neighborhoods of Shanghai’s Former French Concession. A true place-making project, WAA’s challenges included the integration of the project into the existing urban fabric, the creation of a refined streetscape ambiance, and the hierarchy of public-private connections.
