A mixed-use high-rise building consisting of two storeys with retail units, a kindergarten and gym, 16 storeys of apartments, and a roof terrace complete with pool is currently being constructed in Ho Chi Minh City in the up-and-coming southern part of Vietnam. The façade is parametrically controlled, with windows of varying sizes positioned in alternately superimposed gradients. This effect is intensified by movable protective sun screens, which double up as decorative façade elements and protect the building’s inside from the heat and glare of the tropical sun. Foundation work began in April 2010.
