This project is the police box in front of Fukui Station in Japan. We considered a suitable design for the spectacle and the street corner around the station as the first entrance of Fukui Prefecture. Moreover, it aimed at the design that was able to become a landmark.

We thought that it was also important to succeed to the memory of the town at the same time as feeling freshness. So, we recycled the memorial glass block that had been used in the old station before it was demolished as a light wall in the upper part of the entrance.

One tree was planted as a symbol to which the police box was located as the service facility for citizens. It will hold feelings of familiarity with the police box.

Light with a white fluorescent lamp causes the atmosphere that doesn't approach easily because it is cold. Therefore, we designed to use light of the lamp color that gave a warm impression. We want the light of the police box to give the sense of security to citizens at nighttime as if the lighthouse in the sea.
