Inspired by the hustle and bustle of street food stalls in Shanghai, we created a prototype in London where the kitchen was not only ‘on show’ but became a focal point of the customer experience. Instead of the naturally-aged wood and rich onyx glass features found in Ping Pong, we used Shanghai-style neon signs to reflect the ‘grab and go’ vibe of NOW. Although very different from Ping Pong, we made sure the new sub-brand retained the wit, warmth and class of the original.
