The solar thermal power plant AndaSol II is located in the immediate neighbourhood of AndaSol I and is almost identical in construction. It has a rated output of 50 MW and can be operated for six hours out of its thermal storage during periods without sunlight. The power station produces approximately 179 GWh annually, providing up to 200,000 people with electricity. The collector field of one power plant covers an area of 1,500 x 1,300 meters. The 7,488 solar collector elements (SCEs) have a total collector area of 510,000 m2. The collectors are composed of a steel framework construction with attached curved glass mirrors.
