In front of the main hall of the new Berlin Brandenburg International Airport is an extensive plaza lined with the buildings of numerous service providers. One of the largest structures on the plaza—situated on the south side and in close proximity to the glass terminal—is the Hotel Steigenberger.
The six-story block-like building stands on an area measuring approximately seventy- four meters wide and fifty-seven meters deep. Entry to the four-star hotel from the plaza is through a two-story arcade. The building’s concrete structure is clad with slabs of matte natural stone.
Except for the reception area and lobby directly behind the entrance, the entire ground floor is dominated by a conference center. Its two largest conference rooms can be combined to form a ballroom. The hotel’s 322 single rooms, double rooms, and suitesare accommodated on the second through sixth floors. All the rooms have a clear height of 2.8 meters.
