Renovation of a 50-year-old wooden house. With the design theme of "a sense of privacy (the degree of mental security that changes depending on the weather and mood)," we collaborated with the client, who researches IT security, to create a house where one can experiment with the way private residences and society are connected. We attempted a renovation design that carefully observes daily life and externalizes it so that it can be extended outward, so that the house can transcend the boundary with the town, closing and opening daily life according to one's mood. We hope that by making the daily life that has been hidden from the town visible, a new kind of enjoyment of living in a house will be born, one that incorporates the coincidence of "living in the town.
