This proposal is home to both a kindergarten and a primary school. Following the pedagogic principles of its parent-organization, the building establishes a clear common social center and also allows for maximum exposure and exchange with the surrounding landscape. Nestled between an existing ensemble of regionally typical brick buildings and an expansive site with an open field to the West and mature forest to the South, the school’s various functions are grouped into wings that rotate around that common center and thereby define external zones for learning and play. Arrival and parking act as a buffer between the adjacent street and the new main entry.
