Jingdai Homestay is located in Denggezhuang Village, Huairou District, Beijing. The village has a long history and was established in the Tang Dynasty. It is situated between Qinglong Gorge and Yanxi Lake, surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery. Walking into the village, the taste of the ancient northern village is overwhelming. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing people to calm down. The project site is located at an intersection, and the original building consists of a main building with a zigzag slope and a U-shaped flat house. It has two courtyards in front and back, and the two auxiliary buildings in the north courtyard are in a nearly collapsed state. The owner commissioned How Studio to transform it into a boutique homestay that can accommodate 14 people for group building.
The homestay is positioned as a venue for hosting group building and family gatherings, with the public area as the main design object. In addition to meeting basic living needs, we have not allocated extra budget for the guest rooms. Extremely restrained basic decoration was carried out, with minimal use of materials and reasonable lighting layout, making the space fully presented in a functional form. Helping homeowners save costs has become a fundamental design mission of the firm, and we have completed this unusual project with extremely low budget conditions.
In our renovation philosophy, we have always adhered to de stylized design, giving buildings a brand new look that is unique yet harmoniously coexists with the environment. We expect the building to have a dialogue with the natural environment in every detail from the inside out, making this reborn building a peaceful and poetic place for users to relax and reconnect with nature.
