A house for 4 person family at the narrowest site in one of the metropolitan area in Tokyo. Three requirements by the client were “expanse” even in this narrow site, ”poshness” like RC structure with wooden structure, and ”sharpness” while it’s sate for children.
We expand the volume to the maximum under the regulation except for the front car port, and put the vertical void and the horizontal void off that volume in order to get sunlight, wind and the view of green to deep part of the house.
The walls surrounding entrance made with concrete protect inside from cold northern wind in winter and produce “poshness” to guests, and the details, such like handrail or barrier were desighned sharply but safely for children.
