Glass House Restaurant and Bar is a hospitality concept in Kendall Square, Cambridge's life sciences and technology district. Integrating our architecture, interior design, and branding disciplines, Hacin worked with joint clients BioMed Realty and The Briar Group to create Glass House. Inspired by the neighborhood's innovation and glass-making history, the restaurant was conceived as a “modern day meeting house” for the community. The design team created both the restaurant’s design and branding concept as a nod to Kendall Square’s visionary identity.
An important element of the design is a 'room within a room' — the "glass house" — which acts as both a dining room and a dedicated space for meetings, events, and social activities. The interiors consists of a minimal color palette, accented by nostalgic shades of green with copper details featured in lighting, bar taps, door handles, and fixtures; custom-created graphics have a similarly retro, playful spirit.
