The retirement home of the DKV (German Health Insurance) is located in a park scenery at the Contrescarpe and at the historic rampart construction, only a few minutes away from the
Old Town and the central station.
Together with KSP Engel and Zimmermann as architects, a housing estate with sophisticated hotel character was planned and realised. It offers 138 spacious apartments with 2 to 3 rooms as well as a nursing area with a total of 28 rooms.
Restaurants, club rooms, a café and a wellness area with spa, fitness room and sauna are part of the service and community facilities. This offer is completed by a surgery, treatment rooms for psychotherapy, a store for the everyday needs with an integrated coffee shop and a ladies’ hairdresser and barber.
The superior design concept shows continuous material usage and language of form and creates a complete appearance that considers extensively the needs of the elderly.
Spacious transitions and views from the inside outwards, most agreeable optical offers like a 4000 litres aquarium or several cautiously designed fireplace areas create an eventful, communicative ambience.
Warm, natural colours and materials leave their mark on the elegant, lively and cosy atmosphere.
The individual completion of the interior and the classic-modern, stylish furnishing also determine in detail the stimulating overall picture and create a room where the most different people feel at home.
