The color palette of local architecture together with white are the ones that define the building envelope. The surrounding landscape with its rectangular urban layout helps to define the different spaces, where the native vegetation defines the outer limit and where the streets are replaced by spacious corridors (for public and for staff circulation) and open waiting areas. The building occupies the site according to a strategic approach, allocating all the areas on one single floor with multiple entrances that emphasize the building’s set up. As a result, the hospital presents four main façades, oriented according to the four cardinal directions. The placement and the shape of the building define this dialogue between inside and outside, trough big horizontal volumes that are perforated by patios. The whole set lies on the ground with a modular but outgoing attitude, creating a fluid, flexible, easily exchangeable, polycentric and sectorized hospital.
