The landscape space at the western edge of Freiham is significantly shaped by the emerging parkland, that funktion is a transition to the new urban quarter with the open landscape space to the west.
The sequence of open and closed park sections, kept in a north-south orientation, creates a park landscape that has different characters depending on the context. Forest, woody clusters and open passages thematize the motif of the landscape spaces of the Moosschwaige (Aubinger Lohe), at the same time they create a formally as well as functionally structured inner park composition that stages the transition from landscape to urban space. The programming and the offers of use of the landscape park follow the principle of west-east sequences in space. This generates an increase of intensity of use towards the settlement area. Prioritizing the vegetative aspect of near-natural development will take precedence in the western part of the park. By keeping the slightly moving, topographically modeled central park sections open, wide visual and axial relationships with picturesque-looking solitary trees are created. This alliance creates an exciting juxtaposition of urban-cultural and landscape-natural character in the new park.
