Luxembourg Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai

 Back to Projects list
Location
Lehbab Street, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Year
2021

Luxembourg is one of the smallest but also one of the most international countries in Europe. Thanks to its openness and resourcefulness, Luxembourg is a global hub for sustainability, innovation, and connectivity – all while reinventing itself time and time again. The scenography of the Luxembourg pavilion at Expo Dubai aims to make this pioneering spirit tangible: informative and entertaining for everyone.

The pavilion with its claim “Resourceful Luxembourg” forms a moebius strip – a symbol of infinity and Luxembourg’s vision of an interconnected world. Divided into five areas: DIVERSE, CONNECTING, SUSTAINABLE, ENTERPRISING, and BEAUTIFUL, Luxembourg’s myriad of facets is brought to life in a walkable movie – in passing as well as via deeper narrative levels. The parametric wall design creates a seamless narrative through various installations – letting us experience Luxembourg with all our senses.

A cloud made of voices and faces lets us immerge into Luxembourg’s diversity. Connectivity all the way into space can be experienced in immersive images. A score by the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra builds up to the highlight. A panoramic cinema celebrates Luxembourg’s pioneering spirit: 180° setup and 3D-imaging technic create a three-dimensional effect without any additional aids. A slide through a beautiful valley with trees, birdsong, and a specifically conceived scent creates a most entertaining finale.
