Located along the canal, near the historic center, the new headquarters of the CAF Bas-Rhin is in a privileged environment. The new building marries the plot and releases a landscaped island heart.
The volume in the form of an “U” develops on 7 levels and an attic, around the private gardens of the CAF. The opening of the ground floor on the landscaped driveway, connecting the street with the park, creates a strong relationship between the public paths and the interior garden. Here is the entrance of the staff. The Council Room at R + 1 forms a bridge between the north and south side wings of the building. She creates a porch, protecting the entrance of staff and bicycle parking and supports a garden at R + 2. The relationship to the landscape is privileged, as is the integration to the site. The facade reflects the sky and the surrounding landscape.
The plot forms a unit conferring a strong identity to the building.
The volumetry makes it possible to create trays offering flexible workspaces that open fully onto the landscape.
All the offices have a depth of 5 m which ensures an optimal quality of the luminous contributions. Punctuated by vertical openings, workstations benefit from perspectives on the landscaped environment.
The central parts (exchange boxes, storage areas, reprographics) and the circulations benefit from the natural light thanks to the glass partitions of the offices. The silkscreening of windows creates a filter between the offices and the circulation and ensures the intimacy of the workspaces.
The nuclei of the vertical circulations release a maximum of surface. The structural device is clear: columns on the facade and a single row of intermediate posts allow the realization of large spans and offer maximum flexibility for development.
