Developer L&L Holding Co. is holding an invited design competition for a skyscaper to replace a 1950s tiered glass box at 425 Park Avenue in New York City.
Manhattan real estate developer L&L Holding Co. has invited 11 of the world’s greatest architects to enter a competition to design a skyscraper to replace a 1950s tiered glass box at 425 Park Avenue in New York City. Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, Herzog & de Meuron, Rem Koolhaas, Richard Meier, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, and others have been contacted in the hopes of creating an icon for Midtown Manhattan. Vishaan Chakrabarti, director of Columbia University's Center for Urban Real Estate, is directing the competition.
