Medical Center with Clean Chic - With the planning and realization of a modern medical center in Heilbronn 3deluxe carries out its first project in the healthcare sector. On 1600 square meters and three floors, the building will encompass doctor’s units, operating theaters and rooms for inpatient ad-mission. The dynamic and clean look of this building with its blue-tinged glass panels conveys transparency and elegance. In addition to the architectural realization, 3deluxe is responsible for the building’s interior design as well. Here, the focus is clearly on the pa-tients’ wellbeing.
Dynamic façade with multi-variant glazing
The building’s white façade with its variously shaped glazing has a dynamic and clear effect. Soft and angular shapes, generous glass panels and small window elements, win-dows and parapets in various heights as well as orthogonal and chamfered window sof-fits provide exciting contrasts.
The façade consists of plain sheet elements with different joint variations: the prevailing backed joints remain in the background and thereby support the façade’s discreet and clear look. In some well-selected places, highlighted joints accentuate the building’s shape and the contrast between straight lines and organic curves.
Design freedom and minimalism
Around the service core with its entrance area, staircase and lift on the ground floor, there are garage-like parking spaces. The façade in this place has an open design, with a significant overhang of eight meters each on both sides. This is a particular challenge in terms of statics, making the building appear light and airy.
Due to its position in the center of the building, the staircase ensures maximum flexibility for the layout of the different units in the doctor’s offices. Regarding the design of the staircase the architects focused on conscious understatement and minimalism. The walls and the bottom sides of the stairs are finished with exposed concrete and coved lighting. The use of in-situ concrete ensures a relatively seamless appearance of the stairs.
Architecture and interior design from a single source
The use of shape is the connecting thread running through the building’s design from the outside to the inside. Regarding the walls and the objects inside the building, the de-signers took up elements of the buildings’ exterior architecture, such as free forms and rounded corners.
As an important feature of the ophthalmic practice occupying a major part of the build-ing, the reception desk with its organic shape made of white solid surface material is a central eye catcher and a point of reference.
Its combination with a large-scale green wall, a wall made of exposed concrete and a wood colored floor results in a harmonious overall picture with a welcoming and com-forting effect, ensuring the patients’ wellbeing.
The spacious practice includes several waiting areas, arranged around the central core. The floor plan with its flowing circumferential path ensures an intuitive orientation of the patients.
