Imagine Having a Relationship with a Building!
“The one who knows all the answers has not been asked all the questions.” —Confucius
The exhibition “Imagine Having a Relationship with a Building!” offers diverse possibilities through six original hybrid visions. Buildings today are intrinsically hybrid; hybridity is an imminent condition of contemporaneity. The ambition, however, is not to make a hybrid building respond to numerous objectives—sheltering its occupants, fulfilling countless functions, addressing various contexts, being of its time, and expressing the positions of its many authors and collaborators—but to discover genuine and exciting ways to communicate with the world. Along with the models and images of the featured projects, visitors will encounter the architects’ intentions and manifestos, addressing critical questions that must be raised today. How do we find new expressions that not merely reflect on our fast-transforming environment but guide us through it intuitively, intelligently, and meaningfully?
