Chi Yan leads Architecture projects at COLLECTIVE.
She holds an M. Arch. from Harvard University and a B.A. of Architecture from Princeton University. Chi Yan is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), co-teaching Master Design Studio with COLLECTIVE Directors Betty Ng and Juan Minguez. She was previously an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture at CUHK teaching Bachelor Degree Design Studio.
Prior joining COLLECTIVE in 2019, Chi Yan was at Herzog & de Meuron, serving on the team as designer and eventually leading as Project Manager on site for the design and construction of Tai Kwun Center for Heritage and Arts in Hong Kong from 2009 to 2018. Between 2017 and 2018, she was a Resident Site Architect for the construction of the M+ Museum in Hong Kong.
Chi Yan has over 12 years of professional experiences working at various award-winning architecture firms in the United States and China with Neri & Hu in Shanghai, Zephyr Architects in Beijing, Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, BRB and Agrest & Gandelsonas Architects in New York City.

Katja Lam

Katja leads interior projects at COLLECTIVE.
Katja is a HKIA / ARB Registered Architect, a RIBA Chartered Architect and Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects. A native of Hong Kong, Katja holds an M. Arch and B. SSc (Architectural Studies) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Prior joining COLLECTIVE, Katja was the Project Architect at OMA, leading the interior design effort at the Hong Kong office. Her architecture and interior works include The Red House on the Peak and China Gold Office at Lippo Centre in Hong Kong and the Shanghai Lujiazui Exhibition Centre, Shanghai, China amongst many others; her experiences cover many Asian-Pacific cities including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Seoul, Busan, Jakarta, Melbourne, and Sydney. Katja has also worked with Aedas and RMJM prior joining OMA. She was a Student Advisor at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD Hong Kong) for Interior Design.

Juan Minguez

Juan leads the Creative Direction and Architecture Projects at COLLECTIVE.
Juan is a Registered Architect in Spain, an ARB Registered Architect in the United Kingdom and a RIBA Chartered Architect. He holds an M. Arch from Harvard University and an M. Arch from Madrid’s ETSAM.
Prior joining COLLECTIVE, Juan has been working in Hong Kong since 2009 as the Project Architect & Project Manager for the new building of Chu Hai College at OMA, and afterwards he joined SO-IL in New York as a Senior Associate leading the construction of the 8000 m2 K11 Art and Cultural Center in Hong Kong.
A native of Spain, Juan has practiced as an architect in Madrid with Frechilla & López-Peláez Arquitectos before moving to the United States and then Asia; he brings more than 20 years of experiences from the European Union and in Asia on a wide range of projects from Architecture, Master Planning to Interiors.
Juan is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, co-teaching Master Design Studio with COLLECTIVE Directors Betty Ng and Chi-Yan Chan.

Betty is the Founder and leads the Creative Direction and Management at COLLECTIVE.
She is a Registered Architect in the Netherlands, a RIBA Chartered Architect in the United Kingdom and an Associate member of the AIA, United States. Betty holds an M. Arch. Post Graduate Degree from Harvard University and a B. Arch. Professional Degree from Cornell University.
Betty is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), co-teaching Master Design Studio with COLLECTIVE Directors Chi-Yan Chan and Juan Minguez. She is previously Visiting Professor of Architecture at the National University of Singapore for Master Year 1 Design Studio, Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUHK teaching Master Thesis class, and Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong teaching Bachelor degree Design Studios. She has also acted as External Examiner and Final Review Jury at RMIT, SUTD, NUS, CUHK and HKU.
Prior setting up COLLECTIVE, Betty was Design Director at OMA Rotterdam with Pritzker Prize Laureate Rem Koolhaas, leading the winning proposal for the Axel Springer Media Headquarters in Berlin, the 80,000 m2 Hermitage Museum Art Repository in St. Petersburg and the 42 Hectares West Kowloon Cultural District Master Plan in Hong Kong among many projects. Betty was at OMA Asia working on the CCTV Headquarters interiors in Beijing, the 140-meter tall Baosteel Headquarters in Guangzhou, amongst many other architecture projects in Asia. Prior, she was at OMA New York working on the construction extension of the Architecture School Building Milstein Hall at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York and a 214-meter tall mixed-use tower Museum Plaza at Louisville, Kentucky.
Betty has also practiced at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel and Massimiliano Fuksas in Rome. Throughout her career, she has worked on architecture projects located in China, Europe, United Kingdom, United States, Russia, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East.
