For the third year in a row, The Architectural League of New York and Socrates Sculpture Park have held the Folly competition "that invites emerging architects and designers to propose contemporary interpretations of the architectural folly." This year's winner is SuralArk, a project by Jason Timberlake Austin and Aleksandr Mergold of Philadelphia's Austin + Mergold.

This year's winner is SuralArk, a project by Jason Timberlake Austin and Aleksandr Mergold of Philadelphia's Austin + Mergold. The duo describes the inverted ark as "an imposing, fanciful, yet purposeless structure: a boat without water, a house without inhabitants, a simple hulking mass of a conflicted typology." The installation will be on view at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, New York, from May 11 until August 3.
