Learning from Lynn

Not surprising given Lynn's embrace of digital form-making, Studio Lynn "focuses on compositions of intricately connected, subtly varied, continuously differentiated elements in non-modular dimensional series." Their mission statement continues: "Our students' sensibilities are attuned to the rhythmic patterns and undulations of calculus as they apply to architecture. We critically and creatively embrace the digital tools that have recently burst into architecture and effloresced in a myriad of forms and shapes."

Two other Master of Architecture studios are available at the Institute of Architecture, which is headed by Dean Klaus Bollingerhose. Those applying to the school* can also choose from two other heavyweight architects: Zaha Hadid, from London, and Hani Rashid, from Asymptote Architecture in New York. With these three proponents of computer-generated architecture, the IoA is like a breeding ground for tomorrow's attention-getting architects.
