Mecanoo has won the international architectural competition for the development of the Senezh Management LAB in Russia with a plan that organizes four functional zones around an "Agora."
The Agora-Senezh, as it's called, is the main building on the proposed campus and the highlight of the competition renderings. Articulated as five wings radiating from a central outdoor space, the building was conceived as a single environment: "a space under a single roof without corridors, where all spaces and activities are interconnected, a space without hierarchy where all have a voice and innovative ideas can grow."
The Agora-Senezh is the core of the Learning Zone, which is joined by the Park Zone, the Waterfront, and the Archaeological Park. The last three clearly arise from the lakeside forest where the campus is sited.
