Platoon Kunsthalle is designed as an experimental space for artists and creatives, and for the members of the Platoon Network. The 'Kunsthalle' hosts art projects, workshops, and events. It also presents a multitude of creative and artistic projects that clash with the regular art-institutions. The Berlin building opened in July 2012. The Platoon Kunsthalle Berlin is a place to develop and test professional, contemporary creativity. It will not be a classical „white-cube“-type art installation, but rather a creative platform for subculture: events, exhibitions, workshops, lectures and discussion for urban streetart, graphic design, performance, fashion, digital art, music, film, club culture and political interventions. The modular architecture consists of 34 standard freight containers. The previously established Kunsthall by Platoon in Collaboration with Graft in Seoul, Korea, received the Korean Architectureprize 2009, the RedDot Award 2010 and the Designprize of the Federal Republic of Germany 2011.
