Chuson-ji Konjikido LED lighting project:
We were in charge of the lighting plan for the Chuson-ji Konjikido LED lighting project, a social contribution activity of the Toshiba Group.
In planning the lighting project, the maintenance and preservation of this precious cultural asset, which is both a national treasure and a world heritage site, was positioned as the most important concept.
We also emphasized the fact that Konjikido is both an Amida Hall dedicated to Amida Buddha and a burial hall for the four generations of the Oshu Fujiwara Clan, and we concentrated on bringing out the essential power of Konjikido by conveying its inherent solemnity, rather than superficially emphasizing its splendor.
Since this essential power lies behind the beauty of the hall, and lighting plays only a supporting role in making visitors feel that beauty, the basic idea behind the lighting plan was to create a light environment that allows visitors to naturally face the Konjikido and enjoy its beauty.
