The original environment of the countryside in Western Sichuan, where the site locates, had been drawing attention with its valuable ecosystem. The architect proposed a design concept of “landscape architectural groups” to preserve as many as waterbodies, trees and bamboo groves in the area as possible. Besides, according to its functions, the architectures were re-arranged as several relatively concentrated groups which were scattered and also connected. As an important public project to enhance international influence of the city, the Tennis Center project explored the new typology that integrated sports facilities and hotels facilities. Architects adopted local stone, wood and bamboo, as well as zinc-titanium sheets, polyurethane carbonate sheets and metal grid.
