Lighting design for a new museum.
This beautiful museum houses two great existing Japanese artists, Ikuo Hirayama and Churyo Sato. Two wings named after the artists designed over the pond which made the museum floating on the water. When the sunlight hits the water surface, it will reflect and move as wind makes ripples on a underneath of deep eave. At the welcoming entrance, there are only indirect light source located on the entrance which provides warm glow to the space. For the exhibition spaces, we have carefully designed the ceiling not to show the fixtures exposed.
