A house for a couple and two children in Tsukuba City. The site originally had a height difference of about half a story (1.5m) between the front and the back.
The shape of the site was utilized as it was, with a parking lot on the lower level facing the street and the house and garden planned on the upper level at the back. The upper part of the house and the garden are located at the back of the house. Above the parking lot is a terrace that can be enjoyed continuously from the garden.
The top of the parking lot is a terrace that can be enjoyed continuously from the garden. By shifting the height of the terrace and adding depth to it, the living space is open to the outside world, while the surrounding view is open to the inside. The living space is open to the outside world, but not distracted by the surrounding view, ensuring a comfortable living environment.
The family study room, which was the client's request, is located in the center of the house, and the floor plan allows the family to walk around this core. By having these two features of the core, the garden, the outdoor space, and the connection to the nature of Tsukuba, we hope that the residents will enjoy their daily lives and child-rearing in abundance.
