Architectural competition - 1st prize - reconstruction and extension of the existing mammals pavilion to new pavilion of Amazonia. Evoking a feeling of real Amazonia by using horizontal and vertical articulation of the visitor paths, roofs shaped as "craters" with the penetrating rays of light that gives the impression of a tree crowns. If a visitor finds himself under construction, he has the impression of being in the forest - surrounded by ubiquitous greenery.
The existing structures are maintained as much as possible, new Hyperbolic shape of constructions is dynamic and economical due to its shape, which is visually appealing from exterior and interior. Technologically, the pavilion is designed with regard to environmental friendly approach and low operating costs.
The internal environment of the pavilion and the risk of flooding place high demands on the perimeter structures. That is why a solution using the so-called "inverted roof" principle was chosen
