Urban Suites is a luxury private condominium located within the prestigious Orchard
Road precinct. The overall landscape layout and design was derived as a series of garden spaces and rooms that are an extension of the architectural spatial organization. This strategy created a seamless link between the indoor and the outdoor spaces, and the indoor and outdoor activities.
The design expression is elegant, stylish, and contemporary, befitting modern urban
lifestyle. The landscape spaces are carefully designed and integrated within a
composition of rectilinear forms and shapes that define pools of water, wood decks,
garden terraces, children’s play areas, fitness terrace, multipurpose lawns, and planting beds. The focal point of the landscape is a long rectangular water body, which spans across and in-between two tower blocks with the infinity lap pool merged with the lush green surrounding. The long water body provides for a 50m long lap pool, a jacuzzi pool, a children’s pool, and an ornamental lily pond.
Planting Strategy
The planting palette includes a wide variety of native, ornamental and evergreen species. New planting structures is well integrated with the existing protected and conserved trees on site. Lush peripheral planting was introduced, using plants requiring low maintenance for a seamless extension of greenery complementing the landscape. The extensive and lush greenery is achieved with layering and a combination of colourful shrubs of different textures. These plants increase the bio-diversity of the site, and support an environmentally sustainable landscape that provides screening, shade and comfort.
Varied garden spaces are perfectly and elegantly arranged to create an evolving
experience as one moves through the site. The herbs and spice garden located adjacent to the barbecue area complements and reinforces outdoor dining and healthy living. A garden pavilion with seating areas encourages residents to mingle and take part in gardening activities.
