The main purpose of this project is the design of a building that merges and integrates itself with the natural environment.

Although it reproduces a natural element, the artificial character of the architectural design is shown by the technological materials (glass and steel) and the constructive choices. Pebble Houses will be eco-friendly and will have a high energy efficiency. The bond between architecture and natural environment is well expressed by their shape. Placed on a hill, the two unities adapt themselves to the ground geo-morphological characteristics. As a result they looking like two big rocks, perfectly integrated with the environs. The orientation of the two buildings allow at the same time privacy and a wide view to the sea. The Pebble Houses are identical to each other. They have two levels and a total floor area of 209 sqm. At the ground floor we can find the kitchen and the living area, at the first floor two single rooms and a double one. The large French windows placed at the front provide air and light to the three rooms at the first floor. Thanks to them you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding landscape. The large terrace (55 sqm) stretches toward the sea providing a porch at the ground floor. The shell has two holes on the top which give light and air to the internal spaces and a large side opening where the terrace is. The building has a floor heating. An automation system measures the thermal conditions and, setting the ventilation, guarantees stable and uniform climatic conditions.
