9 kings The client, a global sourcing company, was keen to engage sustainable building practices, as well as to showcase the space as its headquarters in China. The highlight of the space is a system made of renewable bamboo flooring that grew to create programatic requirements such as meeting rooms, shelving, lighting, stairs etc. As the office was spread over two floors, the flooring of the second floor flips to become the ceiling of the lower level. This not only results in a ceiling scape on the first floor, it also ties both levels together, giving the office a unique and strong brand identity.
