The project aims to renovate a country semi-detached house, built in the ‘60s, and to trasform it into a proper villa divided into two independent units. The main structure has been mantained, except for the top modified into a more contemporary flat roof. The new resulting volume contrasts with the exixting dependance for his contemporary and simple regular shape.
CRV House follows the principle of “osmotic” architecture looking for permeable and uid spaces: a filter between indoor and outdoor has been create to generate a new kind of hybrid space.
The facade is designed to be as permeable as possible, placing in communication indoor and outdoor, thanks to a wide use of big glass windows and to a second skin system that uses sliding steel brise-soleil panels.
The interiors have been designed to create wide bright spaces, to maximize the living comfort.
Artificial light has been used as a proper building material to change and emphasize the perception of various rooms.
Each unit has been designed for the different clients’ requirements: the smaller unit is dedicated to an elderly-couple and a growing young family will live in the bigger one.
Each unit is divided into day-living space at groundfloor, facing the inner garden, and night-relaxing rooms at first floor.
