House in Misato

 Back to Projects list
Location
Saitama, Japan
Year
2017

Surrounded by a rural landscape in Saitama Prefecture, this two-story wooden house is home to a couple, their cat, and dog.

The living and dining rooms are laid out on the southwestern side of the house, where the view of the surrounding countryside is wide, and the large wooden sash windows in the corners are pillar-less, creating a pleasant space that integrates with the deck terrace when opened.

In addition, a catwalk that makes use of the beams in the structure to create stair-like furniture and large openings, and a garden that can also be used for a dog run, make the house a comfortable place to live with pets.

Total floor area 180.95m2
Structure Timber
