INTRINSIC IMAGINATION AND ART OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS: The Opera Dome Foyer is presented as a part of a series of architectural projects for theatres and other performing arts. Interior design was conceived for The Bolshoi Theatre branch, developed as a part of a big cultural project consisting of The Opera House, the museum of arts, and the music school. The Opera House foyer is a formalistic exemplification of the dramatic atmosphere of the place. Entrance square pillars support the upper tiers of the vertical foyer. Although the design solution of the foyer pillars looks static it holds a hybrid function as a structural supporting element and a stage decoration. Pillars and textiles form a picturesque chain of sky-colored large-scale curtains, thus forming the main foyer space and creating the effect of an additional flexible entrance scene for performances, public arts, and short opening concerts. The foyer's classical deco-design is created as a whole: from the form-giving of the tiles to textiles, the leitmotif of the form is a motion and melodious fluidity.
